At Roaming Whiskers, we believe cats deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and happy no matter where life takes them. Whether it’s a weekend getaway, a cross-country move, a road trip, or an unexpected emergency, we’re here to make traveling with cats simpler, cleaner, and far less stressful for both pets and their humans.
Our Story
Roaming Whiskers was founded by Liz Gilbert-Schaffer, inspired by her cat Fred — the original “roaming whisker.” Together, they explored new places, traveled often, and discovered firsthand how difficult it could be to keep cats comfortable on the go.
Traditional cat litter was heavy, inconvenient, and impossible to pack efficiently. So, Roaming Whiskers created something different: lightweight, portable, travel-ready litter designed specifically for cats on the move.
That idea became Travel Gravel — a compact, easy-to-carry litter solution made for adventures, emergency kits, travel bags, and everyday convenience.
Designed with portability, cleanliness, and odor control in mind, Travel Gravel helps cat parents stay prepared wherever they are.
But Roaming Whiskers became more than just litter. It became a brand dedicated to helping cat parents travel smarter, prepare better, and create stress-free experiences for their furry companions.
